Abstract
To increase the capacity of air compressors in hot summertime days it is suggested to cool the air in an air-cooling block (ACB) before feeding the air into a compressor. A basic diagram is developed and presented. Calculations have been made to set up the design of ACB consisting of a steam-jet refrigerating machine, serving to generate cold temperatures, and a FAST ENGINEERING® heat exchanger of the radial-spiral type, serving as an air cooler.

Keywords: air compressor, steam-jet refrigerating machine, air-cooling block, heat exchanger of the radial-spiral type.
