Abstract
(Report of the IAR President at the 20th General Annual Meeting on 23 April 2013) The list of members of the International Academy of Refrigeration (as of 23.04.2013) Summarizing the work of the International Academy of Refrigeration during the past 20 years, the IAR President A.V. Baranenko highlighted the Academy’s indisputable contribution to the priority areas within the scope of its professional sphere. Among them are the development of working media for low temperature equipment in line with the requirements of the Montreal and Kyoto Protocols; conversion to natural refrigerants; refrigerating systems with low levels of ammonia consumption; solid state refrigerating machines; cryogenic support of technological processes in metallurgy, petrochemistry and gas industry; cryomedicine and cryobiology; air  conditioning and life support systems; increasing power efficiency of low temperature equipment; application of heat pumps; ecology and environmental protection; recycling of  gas exhausts; cryo-, bio- and nanotechnologies; resource-saving technologies for complex waste-free processing of agricultural produce and production of food with high nutritional and biological value; genetic engineering, etc.
