Calculating the phase equilibrium of diluted solution separation processes to obtain super-pure products

Borzenko E.I., Yaritsa V. A.

Abstract
When calculating the rectification process of a diluted propylene-propane solution, the number of theoretical plates also depends on the method chosen to calculate the constants of equilibrium between phases. Various methods of their definition are discussed, including the use of the Soave modification to the Redlich–Kwong equation of state to calculate coefficients. Dependence for an ideal mixture is shown to be applied in this case.

Keywords: rectification, binary mixture, column, traces, separation of products, constant of phase equilibrium.
