Restoring thermodynamic workability of a heat exchanger in the high-pressure cycle by varying technical losses from irreversibility

Trotsenko A. V., Poddubnaya M. V.

Abstract
Computerized experiments were carried out to restore the thermodynamic operational capabilities of an expansion heat exchanger and the high-pressure cycle for a cryogenic refrigeration plant. Heat inflows and hydraulic resistances of working substance in the heat exchanger were chosen as control actions for the process of restoration. It is shown that actual restoration of workability can be achieved only by increasing heat input from the surroundings. The changes in energy efficiency were identified and analysed for the tested heat exchanger and the cycle.

Keywords: cryogenics, cycle, heat exchanger, thermodynamic operational capability, exergic analysis, technical losses.
