Abstract
The article examines feasibility and peculiarities of using heat pumps for compressor cooling at a hump yard facility with subsequent utilization of disposed heat energy for heating buildings within the railway transport system. A feasibility study of heating hump yard buildings with heat pumps is presented. Comparative analysis of heat pump units (HPU) and conventional heating techniques has been made, and economic benefits of HPU introduction have been forecasted.
Keywords: power efficiency, low-potential heat energy, compressor cooling system, heating system water quality, heat potential, heat pump, energy conversion coefficient, efficiency area, operating costs.
