Abnormal properties of water and a possibility to use them for power generation

Makashev U. A., Kirillov V. V.

Abstract
Water is the only liquid whose density is abnormally changed during transition between liquid and solid states. Instead of consolidation, solidified water (ice) becomes less dense. Such transformation occurs due to the unique molecular and electronic structure of water generating hydrogen bonds and peculiar water-specific crystal and liquid-phase lattices. A basic diagram is presented to describe the work of a power source during phase transition, and a technical solution is suggested to suit the weather conditions of the Russian north-west.

Keywords: water, crystal lattice, heat capacity, phase transition.
