Abstract
The task is set to design a gas bearing surpassing the existing leaf-type and foil gas bearings in loading capacity, service life, shaft speed, and other specifications. Presented here are the results of the research on oscillation modes, their origins, mechanisms and frequency response characteristics of pressure pulsations in the working substance feeding system and the lubricant film on a gas bearing.
Keywords: aerostatic bearing, hybrid gas bearing, critical frequency, RANS equation, pneumatic hammer mode, flow rate fluctuations.
