Abstract
Large temperature gradients can be observed in submicron structures and nanostructures. The finite element method has been used to calculate the temperature field for a “cone–plate” semiconductor contact. It is shown that under certain conditions thermoelectric phenomena in such systems become nonlinear.
Keywords: thermoelectric energy conversion, 3D-nanostructures, nanocomposites, large temperature gradient, nonlinearity, finite element method.
