Abstract
One of the modern methods of heat exchange intensification in the refrigeration units is application of new working media with better properties of hat transfer e.g. nanofluids. This paper presents the results of comprehensive experimental study of nanofluids during pool boiling processes, which include not only the nanoparticles, but surfactants also. It is shown that the boiling performance of nanofluids depends on such factors as concentration of nanoparticles and surfactant, heat flux densities, boiling temperature and stability of nanofluids. The contribution of each factor depends on the conditions in which the boiling processes occur. Therefore, the conclusions about the  application prospects of nanofluids in refrigeration cannot be made in general, but must be specified to its operation conditions.

Keywords: pool boiling, heat-transfer coefficient, bubble departure diameter, refrigerant/oil solution, nanofluid, surfactant.
